PRP Therapy Metro Detroit Michigan
Experience the Future of Natural Skin Rejuvenation!
PRP Therapy has been used for years in dentistry, reconstructive surgery, and sports medicine. Now, it has been harnessed for revolutionary anti-aging skin treatments such as Microneedling or Collagen Induction Therapy, also known as the vampire facial. When applied to particular parts of the skin and body, the high platelet concentration that is present in your own blood stimulates cellular regeneration and the growth of new collage. As a result, you’ll see your skin tighten, wrinkles disappear, and complexion restored!
What Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Procedures Do You Offer?
Michigan Cosmetic Surgery is excited to offer the latest advancement in PRP Therapy, commonly known as Micropen, Microneedling, or the Vampire Facial. It is a safe and highly effective process scientifically proven to address the most visible signs of aging.
Micropen, or Microneedling can be safely and effectively performed in most places where visible wrinkles are commonly experienced.
10 Common Skin Problems that Can Be Improved with PRP Therapy:
- Oversized Pores
- Lack of Firmness
- Diminished Radiance
- Toxin Buildup
- Loss of Skin Tone
What Can I Expect During and After the Procedure?
This anti-aging skin procedure is completely non-invasive and requires no surgery. Though here may be some mild discomfort depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment required, you’ll notice a restored radiance and glow that will improve in the coming weeks. After the procedure, you may experience some mild skin redness in the treated areas for up to 48 hours.
How Does PRP Help with Hair Loss?
When using PRP therapy to address hair loss, research has found that it can stimulate inactive or newly implanted hair follicles to move into their active growth phase. PRP therapy does have its limits, in that it cannot regrow hair where there is no follicle (such as on a bald spot where the hair has completely fallen out), and it has only been proven effective in treating thinning hair that is a result of male pattern baldness.
While PRP for hair restoration is recognized as a promising option to treat thinning hair, it still requires more research. There has been evidence of success, but the true effectiveness of the treatment is still unknown. However, because PRP treatments are minimally invasive, virtually painless, involve zero downtime, and have shown positive results, it is thought to be a revolutionary hair loss treatment. Additionally, since the therapy utilizes your own blood, there is no risk of rejection or side effects that could occur with other procedures. PRP can be done as a standalone treatment, or used as a complement to the hair transplant or nonsurgical hair restoration options offered at Michigan Cosmetic Surgery.
PRP Procedure, Results, and Recovery
At your PRP treatment, Dr. Awada will first draw a small amount of blood, place it in a closed centrifuge, and separate the platelet rich plasma from the other cells in the blood. The PRP serum is then injected into the chosen treatment area on your scalp using a microneedling device. To achieve optimal results, some patients may require multiple treatment sessions.
After your treatment, the only side effect you may notice is a mild warm sensation, similar to a sunburn. This is normal and temporary, and dissipates quickly. You are able to wash your hair immediately, and can return to all of your normal activities, even swimming.
If you have noticed that your hair is beginning to thin, or you simply want to boost new, healthy growth, PRP therapy could be the answer. Call Michigan Cosmetic Surgery today at 248-948-5500 to schedule a consultation.
